Impact targeted : Reduce malnutrition from 30% in 2011 to 15% in 2016 for children below the age of 5 years.

Problems to be solved:
* Monotonie in crop and food system
* Soil degradation
* Low productivity (crops and livestock)
* Long hunger period
* Low income specifically for women

What approach:

Participaory planning with farmer groups at village and communcal level
Determining roles of key actors
Elaboration of communication plan to reach other actors
M&E every year

Activities:
A: Nutrition (could be formulated as an outcome)
- Improve nutritional practices (from diagnostics to developing new recipes with newly available ingredients - from diversified production)
- Training local resource persons (from grandmothers, health workers to young mothers), probably done by partners

B. Productivity increases
- Mechanization options for critical farm operations
Intensification of intercrops, including fodder production
Integrated soil and water management (also using trees)
Facilitate access to improved seed and planting material

C. Income generation
- Collective marketing
Improved storage and preservation
Options for value addition on the farm, in the household (e.g. animal feed, couscous,…)
Introduction of vegetable production
