Gender in Agricultural Research Training[edit | edit source]

12 - 13 June, 2017[edit | edit source]

Lilongwe, Malawi[edit | edit source]

Background This will be a two-day “Gender in Agricultural Research Training” specifically tailored to Africa RISING’s farming systems and action research approach. Apart from an introduction to gender concepts and principles of sex-disaggregation, scientists will familiarize themselves with gender analytical tools for technology evaluation. The training will be lead by Sabine Fründt, an international trainer and consultant.

The training is open for all Africa RISING researchers and research assistants from national and international partner organizations. Since there will be some practical exercises on technology evaluation, we would suggest that each team nominates at least two participants. This will allow teams to tailor some tools to their specific technology evaluation needs.
