Day 1 (7 Sept.) 8:30 Participant’s registration 9:00 Introduction of participants – Jonathan Odhong’, facilitator Process: Facilitated introduction - we will do a mistaken identity kind of introduction.This is a quick and easy way for participants to get to know one other at the beginning of an event. When they first enter the meeting room at the start of the day, participants receive a name card with someone else’s name on it, and are asked to mingle and find that and ask them how they are person.The exercise finalizes when everybody has had an opportunity to find their name tag - approximately 10 minutes. 9:30 Welcome & Opening remarks

10:00 Tea/Coffe Break and group photo 10:30 Overview of project activities implemented and expected outcomes – Mateete Bekunda Process: 20 mins. presentation + 10 mins Q&A 11:00 Presentations by Theme Leaders on implementation progress and achievements toward expected outcomes – also highlight remaining gaps Process: 30 minutes presentation by each theme + 15 mins Q&A/discussion after each presentation

3:30 Tea/Coffe Break 16:00 Group exercise: To assess how much has been achieved in terms of cross fertilization between themes and Malawi/Zambia Process: Improvised VIPP card collection and 1-2-4 all Participants to get cards of two colors representing: cross theme-learning (how much has been achieved in terms of cross fertilization between themes); and how much has been achieved in terms of cross fertilization between Malawi and Zambia 4 minutes self-reflection, 6 minutes reflection in groups of two, and 10 minutes reflection in groups of four Facilitator leads the groups to report-back, pin-up their reflections and cluster them 17:00 End of day

Day 2 (8 Sept.) 9:00 Overview of agenda for the day/ Recap Process: Quick buzz among the participants about a) the most interesting insights from yesterday's presentations by each theme. What stood out? 9:15 Africa RISING going to scale in E. Province of Zambia - legacy, loose ends and exit strategy - group activity Process: participants break into their themes to brainstorm, discuss and then present: * The key legacies of project activities implemented by each theme * The loose ends / unfinished business in the work that was being done by the team and if there are other avenues/initiatives that they know some of these lose ends will be moved forward. * 20 minutes discussion + 10 minutes presentation by each theme 10:15 Tea/Coffe Break Legacy

• For the farmers?
• For the global knowledge base?

Loose ends

• Those that don’t require any additional funding and when they would be finished?
• Those that require additional funding, how much is required and by when would they finish?

Exit strategy

• What are the key things you are going to do as part of an exit strategy as the project comes to an end?
• Including plans for communication and orderly termination of engagement with the farmers?

This will help us to become aware of directions in a new way. 3. The traditional directions are up (point up), down (point down), left (point left) , right (point right), front (point foward), and back (point backward). 4. The new directions are up (point foward), down (point right),, left (point backward), right (point up), front(point left), and back (point down). 5. We now want to practice with these directions. Please point in the appropriate directions when I say them. Ready? 6. Left, right, left, up, up, front, down, left, back. (Continue for a while.) 7. Do a debrief about the experience of change.
